New Year's Eve? [16 Dec 2008|11:15pm]

spinfrog
Hi!

I am sort of new to the Orlando area, so I am really hoping some of you can recommend good places to go for New year's Eve! I am not looking to get really drunk or to spend a lot of money, just a place that would have a fun happy vibe...

Help? :)

Does anyone know of any big indie craft fairs in the Broward or tri-county area coming up/ever? Something like this: http://www.renegadecraft.com/

I've scoured google but nothing seems too similar.

Would it be possible or difficult to put one together? Would you want to team up and start one/ be a vendor/ attend?

Palm Beach Food Reviews

Visit the new website for Palm Beach Food. www.PalmBeachFoodReviews.com is the place for food reviews, restaurant listings, and the blog by Gastronomical Jew!

Did you ever go out to a restaurant and have such a great experience that you couldn't wait to tell all of your friends?
We have them all the time!

We always wondered if your experiences are effected by the company that you keep and the mood that you're in that day.
If we you having a celebratory meal, lets say for a big bonus you received or a good grade at school, would that make the service better, because your energy was more exuberant?

Does food taste better when you've come off of a really bad stomache virus and you haven't eaten anything but broth or jello for a week? We would think that it does.

How about if you spent the holidays in a self induced gluttony marathon, would a gourmet buffet breakfast be fair to review?
Of course it wouldn't be fair... we couldn't eat another bite!

Their are a few rules that we impose on ourselves, as reviewers for Palm Beach Food Reviews (as well as Broward Food Reviews, and Miami Food Reviews.com).

First, we are looking for restaurants that want to be reviewed.

We don't want to surprise you on the day that your chef has the flu. We want to be invited in. Sample your specials, check out the kitchen , and meet the staff. We want to hear your story of the "why" you decided to create this dream of serving people your food. We want the people that read our reviews to know who you are, and what you care about when they come into your restaurant. We do want them to have expectations, and we want you to meet those expectations by way of sharing your story first hand with us.

Our readers are our friends. We want to introduce you to them through our experience.

tampa [06 May 2008|09:47pm]

groodjorb
i have lost faith in tampa bay. i've lived here for about three years now. at first it was really exciting moving from my small town (leesburg) to tampa, but now i am starting to hate this city so much.

to be fair, i live near usf which is not the best neighborhood. i'll be turning 21 in a few months and i'm hoping that this will open up some new, cool things to do in the tb area.

anyway, what are some cool things about tampa? fun places to go? good shopping? concert venues? anything besides going to the castle or prana, please.

Movin' Movin' [20 Apr 2008|02:46pm]

stealthponies
Hey!

Lemme give an introduction.  I'm Paige, I'm a student at UNC Chapel Hill, and have lived in Greensboro, NC all my life.  My mom grew up in West Palm Beach and is taking the opportunity of her having a newly empty nest to move back to the motherland.  Particularly, Vero Beach.

So here's my question.  What is there to do in Vero?  I'll be in Vero for my summers and holidays and really don't know much about anything.  I'm a vegetarian and am into pretty much everything you could think of, so no suggestion is weird.  Even bowling.  I am all over that.

Also... does anyone know where I could get some employment?  I'd be up for working most places so long as I get paid over $7.50.

I'm feeling pretty lost about this whole move because I just found out about it a few weeks ago.  ANY information you all could give me would be so incredibly awesome.  I don't know a soul in Florida except all my relatives! :(

iRiver for sale! [18 Mar 2008|02:37pm]
awesome_express
Hello all. I have here a 6GB MP3 player. The brand is iriver, and the model is h10. I've had this little thing for a couple years, and I haven't really used it, so I would like to sell it. It holds 6GB of music [around 1500 songs], photos, text files, and also has an FM radio and voice recorder. It comes with a USB sync/charging cable. I'm sure I can scrounge up a pair of headphones if you are in need of a set to go with it. Let me know if you have any questions, either give me a call [(863) 255-4266], or e-mail me [shoutinganswers@gmail.com] if you would like to buy this!

I'm asking $100 or best offer. Here is a Wikipedia article about this iriver. Buy it! :)

The new girl... [11 Nov 2007|11:25pm]

omgmissamylee
Hey. I'm new. Here's the awkward introduction...

My name is Amy Lee. I live on the Treasure Coast. I teach music lessons, play roller derby, foster critters and humans, and love horror movies. Pretty simple, I suppose.

I'm currently dying of the plague or sars or the bird flu or something. Boredom has led to another LJ addiction. I thought I'd kicked the habit.

So, um, hi.
